About Me

I am a resourceful strategic thinker with proven skills in community collaborations and partnerships, fundraising and development, event planning and communications. With 10 years of experience in the non-profit field, I have worked both in academic and community settings. Together these environments have enabled me to work closely with parents, youth, volunteers, board members and other key community constituents.

I currently serve as the Program Manager of Youth Outreach and External Engagement at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Detroit, primarily recruiting youth that have an incarcerated parent, youth that have had exposure to the Juvenile Justice system and other at-risk young people. I have also held fund development positions at Alternatives For Girls and Wilberforce University. Recently, I was recognized as a StayClassy, Top 25 National Young Nonprofit Professional of the Year and a BoardSource, Judith O’Connor Memorial Scholarship for Emerging Nonprofit Leaders recipient.

A product of a military (Air Force) family, having lived in 10 different places, both domestically and internationally, I hold a graduate certificate in non-profit management from Eastern Michigan University, a Master’s of Science degree in Communications and Strategic Planning from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Media Communications from Wilberforce University. I also serve as a board member with the Sojourner Foundation and YNPN Detroit and I’m an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Pontiac Alumnae chapter.

I live in the Detroit Metro area with my AWESOMELY AMAZING husband, Ed  – who by the way owns his own Voice-Over and Voice-Acting business (Famous Productions) and he is THE BEST, yes THE BEST!! We also have two cats that we affectionately call “The boys,” more on them later.
